Kochi - Friday 13 December 2103

We left Dubai in the early hours of the morning for Kochi. Our flight was delayed departing but we finally arrived in South India at 8am in the morning.

I've forgotten that life in India runs at its own pace and has its owns rules. The concept of time and urgency does not really exist, as we found when going through immigrations and customs at Kochi Airport.

We were picked up by out tour representative (Mr Joy) and taken to our hotel, the Grand Seasons in Cochin - my first impressions of the south was that it was a beautiful district filled with tropical greenery, so different to greenery we have in New Zealand.

In the evening, we went out to dinner with Saroja Masi, Anita Masi and their two friends.

We went to a restaurant called Casa Linda, where we had a selection of different meals including Paneer, Fish, Chicken and Coconut Prawns (and steamed rice- Alisha's favourite). Unfortunately there were no Masala Dosas which we were a little disappointed about, but we are still looking forward to having them later during our tour.

It was an interesting first day in Cochin, and I look forward to discovering more about it tomorrow.
